Parking

If you join a guided excursion to Secret Falls, your meeting point will usually be at the outfitter’s base in Kapa’a, on the east side of Kauai.

If you plan to do the kayak plus hike on your own, note that kayak rental places may not coincide with the launch location, and you may have to mount your kayak on your car and head to the launch location.

Free parking is available at the Wailua River State Park boat ramp (see map). Free parking is also available at the Wailua River Marina.

Ask the outfitter with whom you are taking the tour or from whom you are renting kayaks or stand-up paddleboards for their recommended parking locations. Note that some outfitters may have a parking fee.

Plan to make your own way to Secret Falls? As an alternative to kayaking, you can go stand-up paddleboarding up the Wailua River to the trailhead and back.
